bauma CONEXPO INDIA gets official support from the Government of India. We are honored that the Ministry of Heavy Industry and the Ministry of Housing have sent their declaration of support.

Construction is an important sector that contributes to economic growth of a nation. Apart from enhancing income, this sector also contributes greatly to employment generation.

While constructing the physical infrastructure in any city, it becomes critical to use innovative technologies which are disaster resilient and leads to expeditious creation of safe and durable assets. Hence, technology occupies a central space in any construction activity.

The Government of India has introduced 3 major initiatives, namely, Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), Smart Cities and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) to improve the quality of life of residents living in urban areas and also to provide houses with basic services, improved infrastructure and necessary amenities. To take these Missions forward, significant construction activities are envisaged which again call for large deployment of construction machinery and equipment in the country.

I am happy that American Association AEM (Association of Equipment Manufacturers) and German Exhibition organizer Messe Muenchen are organizing bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2016 in Gurgaon, Haryana which would provide a professional platform for networking, investment and exchange of ideas and information among representatives of different countries on latest construction machinery, building materials, machines and mining machines and construction vehicles.

I wish the event success and hope the Indian construction agencies, Government organizations and other Stakeholders will utilize this opportunity to enrich their knowledge on lastest construction machinery and equipment which lead to further innovations in the construction industry.

The Department of Heavy Industry is glad to support bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2016 – An International Trade Fair for Construction Machinery, Building Material Machines, Mining Machines and Construction Vehicles which will be held in the National Capital Region from 12th to 15th December, 2016. We look forward to a prestigious gathering of stakeholders from Construction Equipment, Mining Machinery and Material Handling Equipment industries. With Government’s commitment to increase spending on infrastructure, there has been a substantial growth in the construction sector and its allied segments.

As India is on a growth path and infrastructure development is one of the key focus areas of the Government, bauma CONEXPO will provide a much needed platform to the industries to converge and exchange ideas and solutions to participate in this growth story. We are happy to co host the Trade Fair and are confident that this exhibition will give an impetus for Construction Equipment and Mining Machinery industry which together form a significant part of the Capital Goods Sector.
